Jackie Gorman

SHS lost a valuable member of our family on December 14, 2017.

As many of you know, Jackie was our Business Clerk here for many years and was responsible for the development and employment of our yearly budget, including daily financial operations within our school. Beyond all of that, Jackie was a beloved colleague and friend. We all will remember her incredible gifts of humor, wit, and intelligence that she brought to our school everyday. Her dry sense of humor, and the incredible timing and delivery of her jokes, will be something that I will always remember.

In 1990, Jackie was hired full time as the Test Make-Up Clerk at Schaumburg High School (prior to 1990, Jackie served as a substitute teacher here at SHS). After her work as a Test Make Up Clerk Jackie served Schaumburg High School in several roles including positions as Cashier, Switchboard Operator, Night School English Teacher, as well as Business Clerk. 

As an English teacher in our Night School program, Jackie would often share stories and anecdotes about the classes and the students that she taught. It was evident from those conversations that Jackie cared deeply about the students in her charge. Had she written a book, it certainly would of been a best seller. In her day to day interactions with all of us, she kept us both fiscally and emotionally responsible. Jackie was steady as a rock and was a super intelligent problem solver who helped so many here at SHS over her career.

Jackie Gorman will be deeply missed and will forever be part of the Saxon family.
